The introduction and conclusion of your cover letter should be unique to each employer. Think of it this way - if you received an email that began with a generic introduction, would you read the rest? Likely not! Why not? Likely because a) you're not sure if it's relevant to you b) you have more important stuff to be doing like studying for your OCHEM test or grabbing a scoop from McConnell's! Employers are the same way - they have a lot going on. If you can't convince them from the very beginning that you are are writing this letter specifically  to them, you may miss your chance to stand out as an applicant. 

Okay, now you've roped them in and you're ready to talk about yourself. This is the tough part! This assignment is intended to help you brainstorm some content for your "why you" paragraph(s) in your cover letter.
